afrotigeress: Lesbian righs in cincinnati in danger...TAKE ACTION FOR EQUALITY: CONTACT CITY COUNCIL TODAY!]

CONTACT CITY COUNCIL TODAY!]
Date: Tue, 07 Mar 2006 19:35:03 -0700

This bulletin from Equality Cincinnati - Please read and
take action before the opposition does!
URGENT!  Just this morning,
five of our allies on City Council introduced
legislation to restore protection from discrimination to gays and
lesbians in Cincinnati.  Your immediate action
is needed now to ensure that this proposal becomes law!
Please read on to find out how you can help!

As you know, in November of 2004, the people of Cincinnati voted
overwhelmingly to remove discrimination based on sexual orientation
from our city charter by repealing Article XII.   The
voters clearly said that discrimination against anyone is
wrong.

Now it's time for CIty Council to take the next step and restore
protection from discrimination on the job, in housing, and in public
accommodations to gays and lesbians.  These are exactly the same
protections the city law currently extends to every citizen based on
religion, gender, age, race, color, disability status, marital
status or ethnic, national, or Appalachian regional origin.

These are the same protections that Article XII unfairly
withheld only from gays and lesbians. If you
still believe in fairness, here's what we need you to
do:

***SEND AN E-MAIL, WRITE A LETTER. OR CALL
CITY COUNCIL TODAY!
Go right now to our website
 www.EqualityCincinnati.org to find out how.

***JOIN US FOR THE HEARING ON TUESDAY, MARCH 14th, 2
PM in Room 300 at City Hall.  That's only days away!
We need EVERYONE there. Let us know you are coming by
simply replying to this e-mail!

***FORWARD THIS
MESSAGE TO YOUR FRIENDS AND ASK THEM TO JOIN YOU IN
CONTACTING CITY COUNCIL - This is the most important action for equality
since the City came together to repeal Article XII in 2004.  No one will
want to miss it!

Let's show the world that CINCINNATI STANDS FOR FAIRNESS ONCE
AGAIN!

iabhoru1adoreu: UC

I have a question...
A friend of mine is interested in UC and I want to ask a few questions since I'm gathering some info for her.

1) Is UC overall more left or right leaning? (this probably pertains more to this specific community:o)
2) How is the Psych program at UC? A lot of research opportunity, or not really?
3) How do you feel the queer community is at UC? Accepted? Not at all recognized?
4) What do you like best about UC?

Thanks!

Bush's yet another 'F7ck You' to the world.

First, John Bolton for the ambassador to the United Nations. Now, Paul Wolfowitz for the President of the World Bank. What next? Unbelievable! This one takes the cake though..

The event is being put on by XU and UC student government as well as the college republicans and democrats from both schools.

The debate will be televised from 9-10 and representatives from both the Kerry campaign and Bush campaign will speak until 11

so come on out and wear your political gear, dems sit on the left, conservatives on the right. get ready for a great night of political bashing.

(crossposted)

I've created a "lovemark" for Kerry on the lovemarks website, and sent a link to all of my friends... I went to go look at how it was doing, and I was dismayed to learn that a bunch of nasty Bushies had gone to my page and voted "lose it" on it...YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. Anyway, it's nothing that will directly affect the election, but it's a fun website where you can nominate things that inspire you. I, of course, nominated John Kerry!!!!!!

So, for those of you who are fellow Kerry supporters, please consider taking a moment to SUPPORT OUR MAN. Here is the link:
http://www.lovemarks.com/lm/read.php?LID=2260#Scene_1

Go to the lower left of the screen under Kerry's pic and vote "love it!!" You can also leave favorable comments about our guy. A lot of people from all over the world see this site. Unfortunately, I think some Bush supporters are deleting their cookies and voting over and over again, so I really hope I can get a lot of people to vote for Kerry!

Thank you again. If there is anything I can do to help any of you, like participate in a poll or visit your website, etc, let me know.

THURSDAY - TUC MOVIE THEATER - BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE
**THIS IS A DEMS SPONSORED EVENT**

Come out and see what exactly the craze was all about. See it for the first time, see it for the hundreth time. It's not a movie just about guns for those of you who heard that, it's all about life and what kind of world we live in today. It affects everyone, and I have yet to meet a person who didn't have strong feelings (good or bad) about the movie. Even if you disagree with him, it's good to know what you disagree with, dissenters are always appreciated.
starts at 7PM

FRIDAY
Well kids...it's that time of the year. Guess who the dems are bringing onto campus...
